Conor Daly's position at Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) remains secure despite recent reports of a $3.5 million sponsorship gap from crypto company Polkadot.

Team principal Dave O'Neill confirmed that Daly's appointment to drive the No. 78 Chevrolet was not dependent on securing the Polkadot sponsorship. While the initial $3.5 million proposal was rejected, followed by a declined $2.5 million request, the team is preparing a new proposal specifically for the Indianapolis 500.

O'Neill emphasized that Daly has already secured multiple sponsorship deals, with two to three sponsors already confirmed from a potential pool of five to six strong prospects. The team selected Daly primarily for his driving abilities, with his potential to bring funding as a secondary consideration.

While JHR does maintain a contractual option to replace Daly with a funded driver if necessary, team owners Ricardo Juncos and Brad Hollinger are not currently considering this option. O'Neill expressed confidence in Daly's abilities across all track types, including ovals, street circuits, and road courses, and looks forward to having him compete for the full season.
