Ty Masterpool Takes Sudden Shift to 250SX West Coast Supercross Challenge
The unexpected West Coast reshuffle sees Ty Masterpool joining the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team alongside Garrett Marchbanks for the 250SX West Region round at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego this Saturday.

Originally slated for the East Region, Masterpool steps in following Levi Kitchen's withdrawal due to illness. The Texan rider comes off a strong 2024 season, finishing fifth overall in the 250cc AMA Nationals and ninth in the SuperMotocross World Championship.
Despite missing the opening round at Angel Stadium, Masterpool has quickly adapted to his new schedule, diving straight into testing and preparation. "I'm a little underprepared, but it's all good. Ready to go," he stated, emphasizing that his primary focus remains on gaining experience for future title contention.

Masterpool's recent experience includes notable performances in the 2024 SuperMotocross World Championship, where he showed steady improvement with 12th, 11th, and seventh-place finishes in Charlotte, Texas, and Las Vegas, respectively.
The rider is particularly enthusiastic about competing on the KX250F, noting significant improvements in bike handling compared to his previous privateer setup. While acknowledging the challenge of the last-minute switch, Masterpool maintains a pragmatic approach: "There aren't really any expectations. It's more like me versus me and let the results come naturally."
Looking ahead, Masterpool aims to use this West Region opportunity as a stepping stone for 2026, where he plans to emerge as a serious title contender in supercross. "I got thrown into the deep end a little bit, but I'm a racer and I'm always ready to go racing," he concluded.
