The Nissan driver finished 5.844 seconds ahead of Taylor Barnard, successfully implementing an energy-saving strategy early in the race. Without the Pit Boost feature from Friday's race, Saturday's competition returned to a traditional GEN3 format, emphasizing energy management.

Rowland's strategic approach involved:

  • Maintaining efficiency in the early stages
  • Building up energy reserves while under minimal pressure
  • Managing the race from the front in challenging conditions
  • Avoiding the typical "stacked up peloton" racing risks

The victory didn't come without moments of doubt, as Rowland referenced previous struggles with energy management at Misano and Sao Paulo. However, improved team communication played a crucial role in his success.

"The communication was really good with my engineer today, he was able to keep me informed of who was doing what," Rowland explained. Clear radio communications, unlike Friday's race where he could only hear 40% of instructions, helped maintain his disciplined approach to energy consumption throughout the race.

The win demonstrates Rowland's mastery of Formula E's unique energy management requirements and proves the importance of effective team communication in achieving race success.
