Team principal Ayao Komatsu expressed high motivation heading into their tenth Formula 1 season, citing their strong fight for sixth place in the 2024 constructors' championship. The VF-25 was developed across facilities in Kannapolis, Banbury, and Maranello, with Andrea De Zordo's design team evolving the successful concepts from the VF-24.

Head of aerodynamics Davide Paganelli revealed that they focused on addressing the VF-24's weaknesses, particularly the rear of the car and rear wing design. The team aimed to create a more versatile package capable of performing consistently across different circuit characteristics and weather conditions, especially in hotter races.

Gene Haas, team owner, reflected on their encouraging 2024 season, which saw them finish seventh in the constructors' standings. With new drivers Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman joining the team, Haas looks to build on their development momentum and achieve further performance gains in 2025.

The VF-25 represents Haas's commitment to progress in Formula 1, with the team focusing on maintaining their upward trajectory following the leadership change from Guenther Steiner to Ayao Komatsu at the start of 2024.
