
Ex-F1 Star Kvyat Confirmed for Formula E Rookie Test with DS Penske
Daniil Kvyat, the former Formula 1 driver with 110 starts and three podium finishes, will participate in Formula E's rookie free practice session before the Jeddah E-Prix on February 13, driving for DS Penske.

This marks Kvyat's first experience with Formula E's new-generation car, though he previously tested for NIO in Berlin and Rome in 2023. Since leaving F1 in 2021, he has competed in NASCAR, WEC, and IMSA championships.
DS Penske deputy team principal Phil Charles welcomed Kvyat, emphasizing the value his Formula 1 experience brings to their team preparations.
Other confirmed drivers for the 40-minute rookie session include:

- Alex Dunne (NEOM McLaren)
- Théo Pourchaire (Maserati MSG Racing)
- Gabriele Mini (Nissan)
- Jamie Chadwick (Jaguar TCS Racing)
- Kush Maini (Mahindra)
- Zak O'Sullivan (Envision Racing)
Lola Yamaha Abt, Andretti, and TAG Heuer Porsche are yet to announce their drivers. All teams must field one rookie driver who hasn't previously competed in a Formula E race.
