
Ex-F1 Star Johnny Herbert Appointed as Lola Cars Global Brand Ambassador
Johnny Herbert has joined Lola Cars as a Global Brand Ambassador, following his departure from his role as an FIA steward. The three-time Formula 1 grand prix winner will strengthen partnerships and develop business relationships for the recently revived British marque.

Herbert expressed enthusiasm about joining the iconic brand, citing his history with Lola cars throughout his racing career in Formula Ford, sports cars, and F1. His role will focus on opening doors for the brand and contributing to sustainable motorsport development.
Till Bechtolsheimer, Lola Cars chairman, highlighted that Herbert's experience will be valuable in supporting their Formula E drivers Lucas di Grassi and Zane Maloney. Herbert brings significant motorsport expertise, including a 24 Hours of Le Mans victory with Mazda (1991) and a Le Mans Endurance Series title with Audi Sport UK (2004).

Lola Cars, which returned to motorsport in 2024 after a 12-year hiatus, currently competes in Formula E's Season 11 in partnership with Yamaha and Abt. The company has committed to Formula E's GEN4 era and plans to explore electrification, hydrogen, and sustainable technologies in the future.
Keith Smout, Lola Cars COO, emphasized that Herbert's appointment represents a significant milestone for the company, particularly in maximizing sponsorship opportunities and business development ventures through his extensive motorsport network and global recognition.
