EVgo Rolls Out Nationwide Kilowatt Hour Pricing for EV Charging
EVgo now offers kilowatt-hour (kWh) pricing across its entire charging network where legally permitted, allowing customers to pay only for the electricity delivered to their vehicle rather than time spent charging.
The new pricing structure includes time-of-use (TOU) components, offering lower rates during Off-Peak and Early Bird windows. This gives drivers flexibility and potential cost savings based on when they choose to charge.

EVgo's pricing structure factors in three main cost categories:
- Equipment costs
- Development costs
- Operation costs (with electricity being the highest operating expense)
Rates vary by location due to different utility costs across jurisdictions. Drivers can check current pricing through:
- EVgo's pricing page
- The EVgo mobile app
- PlugShare platform
- Charger screen displays
