
Brown, Beckman, Anderson's Record Lead Friday Gainesville Qualifying
Antron Brown, Jack Beckman, Greg Anderson, and Gaige Herrera secured provisional No. 1 qualifier positions during Friday's NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway.

In Top Fuel, Brown posted a 3.685-second run at 334.24 mph in his Matco Tools dragster. The reigning world champion's performance came during the second session, positioning him for his potential 51st career No. 1 qualifier. Tripp Tatum matched Brown's time but at a slower 326.58 mph, while Shawn Langdon sits third with a 3.690 at 335.23.
The Right Trailers Top Fuel All-Star Callout pairings were set, with Steve Torrence choosing Tony Stewart, Doug Kalitta selecting Clay Millican, Shawn Langdon facing Brown, and Justin Ashley matched against Brittany Force.
Funny Car saw Jack Beckman dominate both sessions, posting a 3.832 at 334.65 in his PEAK Chevrolet Camaro SS. Bob Tasca III follows in second (3.833 at 333.82), with Capps in third (3.857 at 335.73).
Greg Anderson made NHRA history in Pro Stock, setting a world record with a 6.443-second pass in his HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro. Deric Kramer claimed second with a career-best 6.463 at 212.23, while Dallas Glenn holds third with 6.466 at 212.56.
In Pro Stock Motorcycle, two-time defending world champion Gaige Herrera leads with a 6.670 at 202.97 on his RevZilla/Mission Foods/Vance & Hines Suzuki. Matt Smith follows in second (6.679 at 203.49), with Angie Smith in third (6.709 at 201.01).
Qualifying continues Saturday at 12:15pm ET.
