The design celebrates BMW's remarkable American motorsport achievements, starting with their inaugural victory at the 1975 12 Hours of Sebring. That historic win, achieved by Brian Redman, Hans Joachim-Stuck, Sam Posey, and Allan Moffat in the BMW 3.0 CSL, coincided with BMW North America's establishment just a week prior.

The manufacturer's success at Sebring continued with the V12 LMR securing an overall victory in 1999. The early 2000s saw the E46 BMW M3 GTR dominate the American Le Mans Series GT class in 2001, followed by the E90 M3 GT2's consecutive Sebring class victories in 2011 and 2012.

Recent accomplishments include Paul Miller Racing's GTD class victory with the M4 GT3 at Sebring in 2023, marking the same year the M Hybrid V8 achieved its first IMSA GTP podium. The success story continued as Team RLL's M Hybrid V8s secured a 1-2 finish at Indianapolis in 2024.

This commemorative livery represents not just five decades of presence in North America, but also BMW's enduring commitment to motorsport excellence and innovation in the region.
