Bruening has demonstrated his potential with impressive performances in previous seasons. In 2021, he finished third in standings, earned Rookie of the Year, and achieved 12 top-five finishes, including a career-best second place at Lavonia Speedway. His 2024 season saw six top-five finishes, starting with the Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals finale.
For 2025, Bruening has intensified his preparation, focusing on both physical and mental conditioning. "I feel like I'm the most prepared I've ever been for a season physically and mentally," he states, emphasizing his renewed commitment to health and race preparation.
Teaming up with 2018 World of Outlaws champion Mike Marlar at Skyline Motorsports has proven beneficial. Marlar's veteran experience has helped accelerate the program and expand their technical knowledge base, strengthening the team's competitive position.
Volusia Speedway Park holds special significance for Bruening, where he's secured multiple top-five finishes. The 2025 season kicks off there with DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals (Jan. 22-25) followed by Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals (Feb. 13-15). The track represents both a technical challenge and a connection to his racing heritage, as Bruening and his father have a long history of attending Florida racing events.
With improved preparation, strong team support, and demonstrated potential, Bruening enters 2025 confident in his ability to compete for both race wins and the championship.
