"I am acclimating quickly to the Corvette Z06 GT3.R — it's a great race car," Wickens reported. "The Bosch system is delivering excellent performance." The team includes support from Bosch, GM, Pratt & Miller, and DXDT Racing.

Two-time GTLM champion Tommy Milner will join as co-driver, having already tested the Bosch system during January's straight-line tests. The system operates through a button-activated pedal mechanism.

This marks Wickens' return to Long Beach since his 2018 IndyCar rookie season, which ended after a severe crash at Pocono causing spinal injuries. Following his recovery, Wickens made a remarkable comeback 1258 days later in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, driving a hand-control equipped Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai. He went on to secure three MPC race victories and the 2023 series title, becoming North America's first champion using hand controls.

Bosch partnered with Wickens to develop a versatile hand control system compatible with various racing platforms, enabling his return to elite professional racing. The upcoming Long Beach race will be Wickens' first street circuit competition using hand controls as part of the IMSA WeatherTech Championship sprint races with DXDT.
