Porsche-powered Cupra Kiro Targets Formula E Success with New US Investment
Formula E team Cupra Kiro has emerged with renewed strength following significant U.S. investment and a strategic partnership with Porsche. The team, previously known as Team China and winner of the inaugural Formula E season with Nelson Piquet Jr., has undergone a major transformation under the ownership of The Forest Road Company, backed by Ares Management co-founders.

Driver Dan Ticktum, continuing for his third season with the team, expresses optimism about their enhanced package despite a last-minute contract renewal. "Now it's all sorted, we're in a very positive place. We've obviously got something a lot better at the start than the package that we have in the last few years," Ticktum shared with RACER.
The team maintains its core structure while benefiting from Porsche's proven powertrain technology. Porsche's recent success in Formula E, including drivers' titles with Jake Dennis (Andretti) and Pascal Wehrlein, sets high expectations for Cupra Kiro's performance.
Ticktum has already shown promise, securing eighth place in the season opener - his first points finish in an opening round and first top-10 result since the Misano E-Prix last season. While avoiding specific targets, Ticktum aims for "a couple of podiums" and emphasizes the team's potential with their improved technical package and strengthened financial backing.
