Despite holding a two-year contract signed earlier this year, Perez acknowledged ongoing discussions with Red Bull about his position. "At the moment I don't know," Perez stated. "I just know I've got a contract to race this year, unless something changes in the coming days."

The Mexican driver's recent performance has been concerning, scoring only 49 points in his last 18 starts. Red Bull is scheduled to present their 2025 driver lineup options to shareholders this week.

Perez emphasized he won't voluntarily leave the team, stating that Red Bull must propose acceptable terms for any lineup changes. "We're going to be talking in the coming days and we will discuss what's the situation from both parties if we are able to reach an agreement," he explained.

His potentially final race for Red Bull in Abu Dhabi ended prematurely after contact with Valtteri Bottas. Perez noted mechanical issues before the incident, saying, "I think the drive was already an issue before that because every time I was shifting up I was losing drive."
