
Historic HSR Sebring Classic 12 Hour Crowns Four First-Time Run Group Champions
The 2024 HSR Sebring Classic 12 Hour saw four first-time Run Group winners emerge after 12 hours of intense competition at Sebring International Raceway. The race, spread across two days, featured nine hours of racing on Saturday and three hours on Sunday.
John Emberson and Nigel Greensall dominated Run Group A in their 1970 Chevron B19, securing victory despite an early mechanical setback. The UK-based team, supported by Atlanta's Vintage Racing Company, finished a full lap ahead of their closest competitors.
In Run Group B, Kenneth McKinnon's Predator Racing team claimed their first HSR Classic victory in their 1972 Porsche 911 RSR. McKinnon, alongside Mike Bruns and Charles Espenlaub, led their group by more than a lap and topped the combined A/B standings.

Bob Neapole and Guy Cosmo achieved an upset victory in Run Group C with their 2020 Acura ARX-05. They maintained consistent performance throughout the weekend, holding off Pierce Marshall and Eric Foss's 2017 Cadillac DPi by just under a minute.
The most dramatic finish came in Run Group D, where Ed Wheatley and Jimmy Llibre's 2015 Porsche 991 GT3 Cup secured victory after the leading Jordan Racing Team suffered a late tire failure. Their margin of victory exceeded two minutes.

Winners received custom-made B.R.M. Chronographes Wall Clocks. The event also featured vintage aircraft displays, with the Olthoff Racing Superformance GT40 winning the Pilots Choice Award and Sam Lauff's 1968 USAF Cessna 02A earning Best Plane honors.
