
Carlos Sainz Takes First Laps at Williams Ahead of 2025 Move
Carlos Sainz has made his Williams debut at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, just 24 hours after securing second place for Ferrari in the season finale.

Racecar speeds through Monaco harbor circuit
The Spanish driver, who joins Williams for the 2025 season, took advantage of the team's unused filming day to get acquainted with the FW46. Ferrari granted Sainz early release to participate in both the filming day and upcoming Pirelli tire test.
During his initial run, Sainz sported a plain white helmet while retaining his signature number 55. He completed several laps in the afternoon session, including practice starts to familiarize himself with Williams' procedures. The car ran on demonstration Pirelli tires as per filming day regulations.
Sainz will join other drivers testing for their 2025 teams on Tuesday, including:
- Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes)
- Esteban Ocon (Haas)
- Jack Doohan (Alpine)
- Nico Hulkenberg (Stake)
- Gabriel Bortoleto (Stake)
Additionally, Williams announced Spanish banking giant Santander as a new sponsor, continuing their support of Sainz as he transitions from Ferrari to his new team.
