Paul Tracy Announces Trans Am Return with Innovative IRC GT Race Car
Former IndyCar star Paul Tracy will compete in the first two rounds of the 2025 Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli, driving an Innovation Race Cars IRC GT in the XGT class at Sebring and Road Atlanta.

Black IndyCar on race track
Tracy, who won the Invitational class at the Bathurst 12-hour race last February, aims to expand this into a full-season championship campaign. The program will be run by Chicago Performance and Tuning (CPT) as part of a two-car effort.
The Australian-built IRC GT, powered by an LS3 engine producing up to 550hp, offers GT3-level performance at a significantly lower cost. The car features a 6-speed sequential gearbox and was recently homologated for Trans Am's XGT class.
"I want to go for a championship," Tracy stated. "The car is super impressive in terms of its performance out of the box. With a proper effort from CPT, I know we can go for a championship run."
The IRC GT demonstrated its capabilities when Tracy and his teammates swept the podium at the Bathurst 12-hour race earlier this year.

Three race drivers on podium
Built by PACE Innovations in Australia, the IRC GT is being introduced to the U.S. market through IRC USA and RaceCarsForYou. The car offers comparable performance to FIA GT3 cars at approximately one-third of the cost, with significantly lower running expenses.
The program is actively seeking sponsors to support a full-season effort. IRC USA is showcasing the car at the Performance Racing Industry trade show in Indianapolis, where the program will be officially announced.
