The season-ending HSR Sebring Historics and Mission Foods HSR Classic 12 Hour kicked off Thursday at Sebring International Raceway with intense competition and historic achievements.

Bob Neapole and Guy Cosmo secured their first Historic Prototype victory in the B.R.M. Endurance Challenge, piloting their 2020 RBN Motorsports Acura ARX-05. They edged out Pierce Marshall and Eric Foss in the No. 02 Matador Motorsports Cadillac DPi by just 4.264 seconds after a strategic mid-race pit stop. Travis Engen completed the podium in his 2005 Audi R8 LMP.

In GT Modern class, Vincent Barletta claimed victory in his 2016 BMW M6 GTD, finishing fourth overall. The Flynn father-son duo took second place in their Irish Mike's Racing Porsche 991.2 GT3, while Colin Dougherty secured third in his 2008 Porsche 997.

The event celebrates both Sebring's racing heritage and its military aviation history as former Hendricks Field. A highlight includes the arrival of historic military aircraft, including a rare 1942 Vultee BT-15 Valiant—one of only four still flying from 1,200 produced.

The Classic Sebring 12 Hour starts Saturday at 1pm, featuring four Run Groups competing in succession until 10pm. The final segment takes place Sunday at 12pm, with winners receiving custom-made B.R.M. Chronographes wall clocks.

Adding historical significance, Jack Hill, whose father instructed BT-15 Vultee pilots in 1942, will witness the same aircraft his father likely used for training 82 years ago at Bainbridge, Georgia.
