
Modified Racing Legends Howard, Planck & Van Pelt Named to Northeast Dirt Hall of Fame
The Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2025, featuring three legendary drivers who left an indelible mark on dirt track racing.

The inductees include:
- Duane Howard: Pennsylvania's powerhouse with 34 career titles
- Dale Planck: Late New York professional racer and multiple NASCAR and DIRTcar series champion
- Billy Van Pelt: Record-breaking champion at Woodhull Raceway
Additional 2025 honorees include:
- Vinny Salerno (Car Owner)
- Tommy Conroy (Mechanic and Crew Chief)
- Charlie and Joyce Cathell (Former Delaware International Speedway Promoters)
- Fred Voorhees (Journalist and Historian)
- Jane Cella (Photographer)
The induction ceremony will take place on July 24, celebrating these individuals who have significantly contributed to the sport's rich history in the Northeast region.
