World of Outlaws Late Model Season Kicks off at Sunshine Nationals

The 2025 World of Outlaws Late Models season kicks off at Volusia Speedway Park's DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals from January 22-25, featuring four nights of intense dirt track racing action.

The event begins with Wednesday's practice session, followed by two nights of 35-lap, $12,000-to-win main events on Thursday and Friday. The weekend culminates with Saturday's 50-lap Feature offering a $20,000 prize to the winner.

Key Storylines:

Bobby Pierce enters as the most successful dirt Late Model racer of 2024, seeking redemption after narrowly missing the championship last season. He's already claimed four wins in five races at the 2025 Wild West Shootout.

Brian Shirley brings momentum from his strong finish to 2024, winning four of the last 10 races and achieving six podiums in seven races between August and September.

Notable Rookies:

  • Ethan Dotson (Bakersfield, CA) - Joining with ASD Motorsports
  • Jake Timm (Winona, MN) - Aiming to keep the Rookie title in Minnesota
  • Daniel Adam (North Carolina) - Fresh off his first Super Late Model win
  • Daniel Hilsabeck (Iowa) - Returning after injury-shortened 2024 season

Local favorites Nick Hoffman and Kyle Bronson will look to leverage their extensive Volusia experience, with Bronson being a previous Sunshine Nationals winner.

The event includes additional competition from Crate Racin' USA DIRTcar Pro (604) Late Models and 602 Late Models all four nights, creating a comprehensive Late Model racing experience in Florida.

This opening event sets the stage for the full 57-race World of Outlaws Late Models season, which spans tracks across the United States through November 2025.
