
McNeilly Takes Victory at USF2000 Season Opener in St. Petersburg
Liam McNeilly of Jay Howard Driver Development claimed victory in the opening race of the 2024 USF2000 season at the Streets of St. Petersburg, Florida. The British driver masterfully defended his position through multiple restarts to secure maximum points.

Jack Jeffers finished second, while Jeshua Alianell impressed with a third-place finish in his first-ever street circuit race. The 20-lap Foundation Building Materials Grand Prix featured intense competition, with the top eight qualifiers separated by just 0.2331 seconds.
Pole-sitter Caleb Gafrarar led early before McNeilly made a decisive pass on the main straight following a restart. Despite multiple caution periods and constant pressure from Jeffers, McNeilly maintained his lead to the checkered flag.
Notable performances included Anthony Martella's charge from 13th to 6th, earning him the Tilton Hard Charger Award. The top ten was rounded out by Evan Cooley (4th), G3 Argyros (5th), Martella (6th), Lucas Fecury (7th), and Christian Cameron (8th).

The second race of the weekend is scheduled for Saturday at 12:30 p.m. EDT, where competitors will again tackle the challenging 1.8-mile temporary circuit combining city streets and airport runway sections.
