McLaren Formula 1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have expressed interest in competing at the Le Mans 24 Hours, according to McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown. This revelation comes as McLaren appears to be preparing for a potential entry into the FIA World Endurance Championship's Hypercar category.

Speaking during the 2025 WEC season opener in Qatar, Brown emphasized his appreciation for versatile drivers who compete across different racing disciplines, drawing parallels to legendary racers like Mario Andretti and Dan Gurney.

"Who doesn't want to win Le Mans? I've talked to Lando and Oscar about it, and they've said they'd love to go race Le Mans," Brown stated, though noting that modern racing presents challenges with manufacturer conflicts, sponsor commitments, and calendar clashes.

McLaren's potential return to top-level sports car racing appears increasingly likely, with Brown hinting at significant announcements coming in June 2025. This timing coincides with the 30th anniversary of McLaren's historic Le Mans victory with the F1 GTR.

The team has already begun its return to sports car racing with LMGT3 entries through United Autosports, Brown's team co-owned with Richard Dean. However, Brown suggests this might just be the beginning, expressing interest in pursuing overall victory at Le Mans.

"We're the only team to have won the 'Triple Crown,'" Brown noted. "It's fair to say that LMGT3 was us dipping our toe back in the water. We just need to look at how we are doing in Formula 1 and IndyCar. I don't think the timing has ever really been better."

Brown confirmed he will prioritize attending Le Mans over the conflicting Montreal Grand Prix this year, suggesting the significance of McLaren's sports car racing ambitions.
