A groundbreaking enhancement is coming to IndyCar coverage as FOX Sports introduces its "Ghost Car" technology, partnering with Sports Media Technology (SMT) to deliver innovative race visualization features.

The system utilizes dedicated GPS transceivers installed in each car's chassis, capturing location, speed, and vital data including RPM, throttle position, brake pressure, steering position, and gear selection. This information is processed in real-time for broadcast integration.

Key features of the Ghost Car technology include:

• Performance comparison overlays between cars
• Real-time tracking and positioning
• Detailed driving line analysis
• CG representations from multiple angles
• Augmented reality graphics over live video

FOX Sports will deploy four calibrated cameras at every track, enabling comprehensive coverage and detailed analysis. The system allows for both live broadcast implementation and post-race content creation for digital platforms.

New features for viewers include:
