Lundgaard Leads McLaren to Top Spot in Thermal IndyCar Practice
Christian Lundgaard dominated Saturday morning's practice at The Thermal Club IndyCar Grand Prix, setting the fastest lap time of 1m40.6421s in his No. 7 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet. This achievement came despite being penalized with a 10-minute early session exit for missing mandatory weight checks after Friday's practice.

Top performers behind Lundgaard included:
- Alex Palou (No. 10 Honda) in second, +0.4826s
- Marcus Ericsson (No. 28 Andretti Global Honda) in third, +0.6410s
- Marcus Armstrong (No. 66 Meyer Shank Racing Honda) in fourth, +0.7153s
- Pato O'Ward (Arrow McLaren) in fifth, +0.7913s
- Will Power (Team Penske) in sixth, +0.8379s
PREMA Racing managed limited track time after Friday's setback when Robert Schwartzman's No. 83 Chevrolet caught fire due to a loose fuel line. The team worked overnight to prepare a backup chassis, completing just one installation lap before session end.
The 45-minute practice session took place under ideal weather conditions, with teams primarily focusing on qualifying setups for the afternoon's grid-setting runs scheduled for 5:05-6:30 pm PT.
