Penske Corporation president Bud Denker emphasized the importance of completing the first race before making future decisions, noting that initial discussions have been positive.

Thermal GM Nicholas Rhoades revealed plans for potential track modifications if an extension is secured. The current 3.067-mile, 17-turn layout, which accommodated 5,000 spectators for its first professional motor race, could see significant changes.

The proposed modifications include:

  • Expanding to a 4.2-mile configuration
  • Removing less engaging sections from the first half of the lap
  • Adding faster turns
  • Creating more space for grandstands
  • Incorporating areas near new housing developments
  • Increasing potential speeds to 180mph

These changes would aim to enhance both spectator experience and racing dynamics, while accommodating larger crowds at future events.
