Kyle Larson Claims First USAC Midget Victory at Merced Speedway

Kyle Larson finally conquered Merced Speedway, securing his first USAC National Midget win of the year in the Midget Madness finale. After five unsuccessful attempts, Larson broke through on his sixth try at the 1/4-mile dirt oval, leading the final 17 laps of the 30-lap feature.

Starting from third position, Larson methodically worked his way past Logan Seavey for the lead just before the midway point. Despite pressure from Buddy Kofoid in the closing laps, Larson maintained control to secure the victory by 0.791 seconds.

The win marked Larson's 29th career USAC National Midget victory, with 10 now coming in his home state of California. Merced had previously been the only California track where Larson struggled, making this victory particularly meaningful.
