Jean-Eric Vergne's podium chances thwarted by safety car in Mexico City
Jean-Eric Vergne encountered another unfortunate safety car timing during the Mexico City E-Prix, affecting his performance when using Attack Mode.
Despite finishing fifth at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, improving from his ninth place in Sao Paulo, Vergne's final Attack Mode activation coincided with a safety car deployment, similar to what happened in Round 1.

"On the whole it was a good weekend, for both me and the team," Vergne stated. "But I'm still feeling frustrated as it's the second time in two races that the safety car has come out just when I've activated my Attack Mode. Without that, we had the potential to finish on the podium."
DS Performance director Eugenio Franzetti acknowledged the team's strong performance, noting that both drivers qualified well, finishing third and sixth. He emphasized the need for continued improvement before the upcoming Jeddah races.
Maximilian Guenther, Vergne's teammate, secured sixth place, marking his first points since joining DS Penske. "We suffered a bit with tyre degradation, but we delivered a good all-round performance and scored some important points," Guenther commented, expressing satisfaction with his growing comfort within the team.
The result demonstrates DS Penske's competitive potential, with both drivers scoring points and showing promising pace throughout the weekend. The team aims to build on this momentum as they prepare for the next round in Jeddah.
