IMSA Daytona Test: GTD Teams Show Strong Progress with New Entries and Upgrades

Three IMSA GTD teams made significant progress during the Daytona test session, preparing for the 2025 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.

Van der Steur Racing will campaign their No. 19 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo in the GTD class, focusing on the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup events. The team showed promising pace with Valentin Hasse-Clot setting the third quickest GTD time during night testing. They're leveraging technical support from Aston Martin Racing and Prodrive for their WeatherTech Championship debut.

Iron Dames is switching to a Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) for 2025, replacing their Lamborghini Huracan. The change comes after a challenging 2024 season, with the team seeking improved reliability and consistency. During testing, Matteo Cressoni achieved the second-fastest GTD time on Sunday afternoon, demonstrating the potential of their new package.

DXDT Racing is entering their first full-time WeatherTech Championship GTD campaign with the Corvette Z06 GT3.R. The team completed 343 laps during testing, with drivers Alec Udell, Salih Yoluc, Charlie Eastwood, and Pipo Derani sharing duties in the No. 36 Corvette.

The 2025 season kicks off with the Roar Before the Rolex 24 (January 17-19), followed by the Rolex 24 At Daytona (January 23-26).
