
Heinrich and Bachler Form All-Porsche Lineup for AO Racing's GTD PRO Title Defense
AO Racing has confirmed its driver lineup for the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD PRO season. Reigning champion Laurin Heinrich will team up with Klaus Bachler in the No. 77 Porsche 911 GT3 R, with Porsche factory driver Alessio Picariello joining for endurance races.

The team, which won the championship in its debut GTD PRO season, secured three victories in 2024 with Heinrich and various co-drivers. Team principal Gunnar Jeannette expressed confidence in the lineup despite new torque sensor regulations for 2025.
Heinrich, who clinched the 2024 title, aims to add major endurance race victories to his resume, particularly at Daytona, Sebring, or Petit Le Mans. Bachler returns to full-time IMSA competition after running a partial schedule in 2024, while Picariello joins as the endurance specialist.
The team's distinctive "Rexy" liveried Porsche will begin its title defense at the Rolex 24 At Daytona on January 23-26, 2025, following the Roar Before the 24 test weekend on January 17-19.
