Haas has implemented significant changes to address its biggest weakness - trackside operations - while making Formula 1 history in the process.

Laura Mueller becomes F1's first full-time female race engineer in the modern era, working with Esteban Ocon, while Ronan O'Hare will engineer Oliver Bearman. Team Principal Ayao Komatsu emphasizes that Mueller was selected purely on merit, citing her progression from simulator engineer to performance engineer within the team.

Key trackside restructuring includes:

  • Francesco Nenci joining as chief race engineer
  • Carine Cridelich incoming as head of strategy from RB
  • Mark Lowe returning as sporting director
  • Internal promotions for race engineers

The team has also launched a new testing program using their 2023 car, allowing new personnel to integrate before the season begins. The 2025 car will debut at Silverstone on February 16.

While the technical team remains unchanged after their "fantastic job" in 2024, Komatsu focused on revamping trackside operations to address execution issues that cost the team points throughout last season. Despite finishing 7th in 2024 with their strongest performance in the final quarter, Komatsu expects tighter competition in 2025 from Alpine, Williams, Sauber, and RB.

The primary goal for 2025 is maintaining consistency while building on their late-2024 momentum, where they scored points in every race except Brazil after Monza. This restructuring represents Haas's biggest organizational change as they aim to solidify their midfield position.
