Haas F1 Must Expand to Prevent Staff Burnout, Warns Komatsu
Haas F1's workforce expansion is essential to prevent employee burnout and ensure sustainable growth, according to team principal Ayao Komatsu.
With approximately 330 employees, Haas operates with significantly fewer staff than its Formula 1 competitors - for comparison, Williams employs over 1,000 people. Despite successfully managing operations like the Technical Partnership Committee (TPC), Komatsu acknowledges this success comes from employees handling multiple roles and going "the extra mile."
"We cannot drive people to a breakdown," Komatsu emphasizes. "We have to increase resource capability so we can achieve our goals without people feeling like they're going to collapse."

The team aims to improve from their P7 finish to P6 in the championship, though Komatsu considers maintaining their current position would still represent significant achievement given their resources. For the upcoming season, Haas will operate at the budget cap limit, a development that relieves team owner Gene Haas from personal financial contribution.
Gene Haas has shown appreciation for the team's recent performance, particularly after the Abu Dhabi race, where he immediately congratulated the team on their achievements. While he maintains ambitious expectations, Komatsu focuses on setting realistic targets given their resource constraints.
The expansion strategy reflects Haas F1's commitment to sustainable growth while ensuring their dedicated workforce can maintain high performance without sacrificing well-being.
