
Grey Remains Most Popular New Car Colour for Seventh Consecutive Year
Grey remains the UK's most popular car colour for the seventh consecutive year, accounting for 27.8% of new car registrations in 2024, with 543,464 units sold - a 6.7% increase from 2023.
Black secured second place with 21.7% of registrations, while blue made its first top-three appearance since 2010, claiming 14.9% of the market. White followed closely in fourth position, sharing nearly identical market share with blue.

- Green cars saw their highest market share since 2004 at 3.5%
- Grey remained the top choice for electric vehicles
- Pink was the least popular colour with only 145 registrations
- Turquoise saw a dramatic decline from 3,627 to 362 registrations

Regional variations showed grey leading in all areas, though white outperformed black for second place in the Isle of Man and Channel Islands. London showed particular interest in green cars, with 3,281 units sold.
