The German manufacturer has implemented two key changes for the new season:
- A revised driver roster strategy across IMSA and FIA WEC programs
- A second evolution "Joker" update focusing on suspension improvements
Jonathan Diuguid, Porsche Penske Motorsport managing director, explains that the suspension updates aim to:
- Increase the car's operating window
- Improve performance across varying track conditions and temperatures
- Enhance mechanical grip in low-speed corners
- Better balance between high-speed and slow-speed performance
- Optimize tire performance, especially with Michelin's soft compounds
- Boost capabilities on both bumpy and smooth circuits
The GTP class is seeing increased development activity, with Cadillac also introducing electronic updates to their V-Series.R for 2025. While Acura hasn't yet modified their ARX-06, the gradual evolution of these cars suggests an intensifying technical battle in the category.
These refinements, though subtle to the naked eye, represent significant steps in the maturation of GTP machinery as manufacturers seek to optimize their packages for endurance racing success.
