Formula E Confirms Pit Boost Debut at Jeddah E-Prix
Pit Boost will debut at next month's Jeddah E-Prix doubleheader, introducing a mandatory pit stop that adds 10% (3.885kWh) more energy via a 600kW ultra-fast charge lasting 30 seconds.

The feature will be implemented in one race at each doubleheader weekend this season, covering Jeddah, Monaco, Tokyo, Shanghai, Berlin, and London. Teams can only pit one car at a time, with a maximum of two crew members working on the car. Failure to use Pit Boost will result in race disqualification.
This addition complements the existing Attack Mode strategy, which enables four-wheel-drive and increases power from 300kW to 350kW for eight minutes during a race.
Formula E co-founder Alberto Longo describes Pit Boost as "game-changing technology" that will challenge teams and drivers to make crucial decisions under pressure. The feature arrives after two seasons of rigorous testing by Formula E and the FIA.
Beyond racing, Pit Boost aims to advance EV charging technology for consumer vehicles, aligning with Formula E's mission of transferring race innovations to road cars. The FIA's senior circuit sport director, Marek Nawarecki, emphasizes this technology's role in developing advanced race-to-road solutions while adding a new strategic element to the sport.
