Following in his father Tim Gee's footsteps, who raced with the World of Outlaws in the 1980s, Skylar brings significant racing experience to the series. His background includes:
- 2017-2018: Full-time American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) competitor, finishing 8th and 7th in points
- 2019: All Star Circuit of Champions (ASCoC) rookie, winning at Lincoln Speedway
- 2020: Improved to 5th in ASCoC standings
- 2022-present: Partnered with Logan Fenton Racing, securing seven wins in Ohio
Team owner Logan Fenton expressed confidence in the move: "We feel that we're ready for that jump. We understand there is a different level of commitment from teams at this level and we intend to do just that."
The 2025 World of Outlaws season begins at Volusia Speedway Park's Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals on February 5-8, featuring a 90-night calendar. Gee will compete against one of the strongest rookie classes in recent series history, setting up an exciting battle for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year award.
"It's going to be tough," Gee acknowledged about the rookie competition. "I've raced with Cole, Garet, and Chris now for a handful of years. I think looking at it right now it could go to anybody."
