Former Le Mans Winner Lotterer Returns to La Sarthe with IDEC Sport LMP2
Three-time Le Mans winner Andre Lotterer will join IDEC Sport's LMP2 team for the 2024 Le Mans 24 Hours as part of Genesis's Hypercar preparation program. Lotterer will replace Dani Juncadella, who has commitments with TF Sport's Corvette program in the FIA WEC.

Lotterer, a Genesis factory driver, will team up with Jamie Chadwick and Mathys Jaubert, stepping in after Logan Sargeant's withdrawal from racing. The opportunity aligns with Genesis Magma Racing's preparation for their upcoming Hypercar program.
"This opportunity allows me to return to Le Mans and bring my experience to this young team," said Lotterer. "The car looks very competitive, and we will form a strong trio. This experience will help me stay sharp for the rest of the season."
Meanwhile, Juncadella joins IDEC Sport and Genesis for the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), adding to his WEC LMGT3 commitments with TF Sport. This move allows Genesis to evaluate his prototype racing capabilities ahead of their 2026 season.
Cyril Abiteboul, Hyundai Motorsport president, praised Juncadella's addition to their 'Trajectory' program, which aims to develop drivers without previous Hypercar experience. Lotterer will undergo testing with IDEC/Genesis Magma Racing before Le Mans, while the ELMS season begins April 6 in Barcelona.
