This year's event takes on special significance as it moves from its traditional December slot to become the season opener, leading into the 73rd Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. The schedule change creates a two-week celebration of motorsports at the historic venue.

The race also launches the new HSR Classic Endurance Championship presented by Mission Foods, the first major U.S. endurance racing series for vintage and historic sports cars. The championship includes four races at premier venues: Sebring, Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta, and Daytona.

The competition format features:

  • Four period-correct Run Groups
  • Three successive track sessions on Saturday
  • Final decisive rounds on Sunday
  • WeatherTech Sprint races
  • Sasco Sports International/American Challenge
  • HSR Global GT
  • B.R.M. Endurance Challenge series

The event also includes two expanded series:

  • HSR Prototype Challenge (now featuring LMP1, DPi, DP, PC, and LMP3 classes)
  • HSR NASCAR Classic (running a full season after last year's three-race pilot)

These races combine to create a comprehensive showcase of historic motorsport, featuring everything from vintage race cars to recently retired modern prototypes and NASCAR stock cars.
