Former Ganassi Racing Manager Mel Harder Named Laguna Seca General Manager

Mel Harder, former team manager at Chip Ganassi Racing, has been appointed as the new President and General Manager of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca by Friends of Laguna Seca.

Harder brings 30 years of motorsports experience to the role, including previous positions as senior vice president and general manager of Circuit of The Americas and SVP of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. His extensive background includes hosting international events and facility management.

Lauri Eberhart, CEO of Friends of Laguna Seca, expressed enthusiasm about Harder's appointment, citing his operational expertise as crucial for strengthening the raceway's efforts and long-term community commitment.

In his new position, Harder will work alongside Eberhart and the raceway team to enhance operational performance and develop new experiences for guests, motorsports series, and partners. His role will be instrumental in implementing Friends' business model and continuing Laguna Seca's legacy as a world-class entertainment destination.
