First IMSA Test at Daytona Unveils 2025 Racing Innovations

IMSA testing at Daytona reveals major changes for 2025 season, with significant developments across multiple teams and classes.

Meyer Shank Racing makes a strong return to IMSA's GTP class, partnering with Acura for a two-car effort. Colin Braun and Tom Blomqvist will pilot the No. 60 Acura ARX-06, while Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly will drive the No. 93 car. Blomqvist set the fastest time during Friday's session with 1m35.90s.

Wayne Taylor Racing transitions to Cadillac with an impressive driver lineup including Filipe Albuquerque, Ricky Taylor, Louis Deletraz, and Jordan Taylor. Cadillac Whelen welcomes Earl Bamber, who joins Jack Aitken in the No. 31 Cadillac V-Series.R.

Aston Martin makes its IMSA debut with the Heart of Racing team, introducing the Valkyrie hypercar built to FIA Le Mans Hypercar specifications. The No. 23 Valkyrie completed 96 laps during Friday's testing, showing steady improvement throughout the sessions.

The test schedule continues with GTP and LMP2 classes on Saturday, including a night session. GTD and GTD PRO entries will join Saturday's testing before having exclusive track time on Sunday.
