Ferrari will supply power units and gearboxes to the Cadillac Formula 1 team from 2026 under a new multi-year agreement. This partnership bridges the gap until General Motors (GM) develops its own power unit, expected by the end of the decade.

The deal supports Cadillac's entry as Formula 1's 11th team, pending final FIA approval. The team, previously known as Andretti Cadillac, will operate under a new structure with complete GM branding.

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur emphasized the significance of another American team joining F1, particularly during the sport's growing popularity in the United States. The collaboration will maintain Ferrari's relationship with two customer teams, benefiting their technical development program.

Graeme Lowdon, appointed as Cadillac's team principal, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with Ferrari, citing the importance of choosing the right power unit supplier. Meanwhile, GM is constructing a power unit facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, demonstrating their commitment to eventually producing their own F1 engines.

The agreement eliminates the need for a mandatory supply deal under F1 sporting regulations and marks another crucial milestone in Cadillac's journey to joining the Formula 1 grid.
