EVgo Expands Fast-Charging Network to 300 Locations Across California
EVgo significantly expands its fast-charging network in California, reaching a milestone of 300 locations. This 40% year-over-year growth ensures that over 80% of Californians now live within a 15-minute drive of an EVgo charging station.
The company has already deployed more than 100 new chargers in 2019, with plans to add an additional 200 chargers before year's end. Each new site typically features multiple charging units to reduce wait times and improve accessibility.
This expansion focuses not only on increasing the number of locations but also on enhancing charging capabilities through:
- Multiple chargers per location
- Higher power output for faster charging
- Strategic placement in high-traffic areas
- Improved coverage across the state
The strategic growth demonstrates EVgo's commitment to making electric vehicle charging more accessible throughout California, supporting the state's clean transportation goals.
