The functionality is specifically available through EVgo's latest app update, but comes with a notable limitation - it only works when Tesla vehicles are connected using the CCS adapter. Surprisingly, the feature isn't compatible with EVgo stations that have native Tesla connectors.
Key Benefits:
- Automatic charging initiation
- No card swiping required
- Seamless integration through EVgo app
- Compatible with Tesla CCS Adapter
To use Autocharge+, Tesla owners need to:
- Install the latest EVgo app
- Use a Tesla CCS Adapter
- Connect to an EVgo charging station
- Charging begins automatically
This update represents a significant step forward in streamlining the charging experience for Tesla owners, though the limitation to CCS adapter use remains an unusual constraint in the system.
Note: EVgo stations with native Tesla connectors still require traditional authentication methods.
