Growing up in Thomson, GA, just an hour north of Swainsboro, Overton has logged more laps at this track than any other in the country. Following in his brother Brandon's footsteps, Cody began his racing career at Swainsboro in 2018 with a Crate Late Model.

Despite a challenging start, Overton quickly proved his racing prowess, collecting victories at multiple tracks including Swainsboro, Senoia Raceway, Needmore Speedway, Laurens County Speedway, and Rome Speedway in his debut season.

Swainsboro holds special significance for the Overton family, particularly during the annual Turkey 100 race. Both Brandon and Cody have claimed victories in this prestigious event, making it a cherished family tradition.

In preparation for the upcoming Battle at the Crossroads, Overton's Dave Steine Motorsports team participated in the track's recent Spring Nationals Series event. Despite mechanical issues affecting their performance, Overton remains confident about his chances, citing his extensive experience with the track's unique 3/8-mile layout.

The Battle at the Crossroads takes place Friday and Saturday, March 21-22, featuring Overton against the World of Outlaws Late Models field. His intimate knowledge of Swainsboro's distinctive "flat in a circle" configuration could prove decisive in his quest for a first World of Outlaws victory.
