McPherson dominated the 2024 season, sweeping all three Western Region events at Ransomville, Merrittville, and Humberstone Speedway. His victory at Weedsport Speedway in June's Central Region race established him as a serious title contender.

The championship chase intensified when McPherson faced early challenges, including a 16th-place finish at Can-Am Speedway. A pivotal consultation with fellow champion Mat Williamson helped identify and resolve mechanical issues, leading to consistent top-five finishes thereafter.

Key moments in McPherson's championship run included:

  • Winning the Mike Bonesky Memorial at Ransomville
  • A crucial third-place finish at Albany-Saratoga Speedway
  • Runner-up in the Chevrolet Performance 75 at Super DIRT Week
  • Fifth place at Brockville Ontario Speedway

At 32, McPherson has cemented his legacy in DIRTcar racing with three championships and 27 career victories, making him the all-time wins leader in the Series. The 2024 season saw increased participation and competition, making his achievement even more significant.

"One of the last things I said to him was I was going to go out and win everything I possibly could this year in honor of him, and fortunately enough, we were able to do just that," McPherson reflected, speaking about his grandfather's influence on his racing career.

Professional accolades for 2024 include:

  • DIRTcar Sportsman Series Championship
  • Western Region Series Title
  • Track Championships at Ransomville and Merrittville
  • Multiple feature wins across different venues
