Christian Craig Returns to Star Racing as Rider and Coach for 2025 SuperMotocross
After spending the last two SuperMotocross seasons with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna FC450, Christian Craig has signed a two-year deal with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing. Craig, who won the 2022 Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250SX West Region Championship with Star Racing, will compete on a Yamaha YZ450F while also serving as a rider development coach for the team's 250cc racers.

"I'm so excited to be back with the Star Racing team and grateful that even after two years away, they still welcomed and believed in me," Craig said. He acknowledges feeling at home with the team, admitting that his past two years were challenging due to injuries and struggles with bike adaptation.
In his new dual role, Craig will not only compete in the 450 class but also mentor Star Racing's 250 program. He'll particularly work with riders like Haiden Deegan, sharing his extensive experience from both success and setbacks in the sport.
Currently recovering from elbow surgeries and a knee injury sustained at the last SMX round, Craig hasn't yet ridden the Yamaha. He's undergoing physical therapy three times weekly, aiming to return to riding in December.

The 2025 Monster Energy Supercross Series opener at Anaheim's Angel Stadium on January 11 presents a tight deadline for Craig. While eager to compete, he emphasizes the importance of returning at 100% rather than rushing his comeback.
Having previously achieved podium finishes on the Yamaha 450F, Craig is confident in his ability to return to top form. "I want to bring back that flash of speed that I used to have," he stated, focusing on recapturing his sprint speed and competitive edge in heat races and main events.
Despite recent setbacks, Craig remains optimistic about his future with Star Racing, emphasizing his commitment to proving himself worthy of the team's renewed faith in him.
