
BMW Factory Driver Maxime Martin Ends Long-Standing Partnership With German Brand
BMW M Motorsport and Maxime Martin have announced their separation ahead of the 2025 racing season, as the 38-year-old Belgian driver seeks new opportunities in motorsport.

Martin's relationship with BMW spans over a decade, beginning with his success in the BMW M Sports Trophy before becoming a works driver in 2013. His notable achievements include:
- Victory at the 2016 Spa 24 Hours with ROWE Racing
- Successful stint in DTM from 2014-2017
- Regular driver for BMW M Team RLL in ALMS and IMSA
- 2023 Nurburgring 24 Hours podium finish
- Partnership with Valentino Rossi in GT World Challenge Europe
- 2024 FIA WEC LMGT3 campaign with Ahmad Al Harthy
- Multiple GTP appearances in the M Hybrid V8
Between his BMW tenures, Martin also achieved success with Aston Martin's factory program, including a Le Mans victory in 2020, before returning to BMW in 2023.
"BMW M Motorsport has played a significant role in my career from the very beginning," Martin reflected. "I am very grateful for the time we spent together and for my seven years as a BMW M works driver. The brand will always remain a part of me."
Andreas Roos, head of BMW Motorsport, praised Martin's contributions: "He was one of the defining faces of our programs, and we fondly remember the successes we achieved together in both endurance and sprint racing. He has been a tremendous asset to the BMW M Motorsport family in every aspect."
