Steve Bernier's racing career began as a passionate spectator alongside his family at Autodrome Granby and Autodrome Drummond. In 2001, following his brother François's lead, Steve entered the four-cylinder class, launching a successful racing journey that would yield approximately seventeen track championships.

After dominating the four-cylinder division, Bernier advanced to Sportsman Modified, where he achieved remarkable success. His standout 2008 season included sixteen victories and track championships at both Autodrome Drummond and Granby.

In 2014, Bernier progressed to the 358 Modified division, securing eight track championships over the next decade. Despite facing challenges in 2024, he managed to secure 10 feature wins and the Ogilvie's Series Championship at Brockville Ontario Speedway.

For 2025, TBR Racing is actively preparing by building cars for customers and investing in new equipment. The team has acquired a CT525 engine to comply with Autodrome Granby's updated rules and maintains two spec 358 engines for competitive racing.

Bernier's 2025 racing schedule will focus primarily on Autodrome Granby and RPM Speedway, with selected appearances at Autodrome Drummond and Cornwall Speedway's major events. He also plans to defend his Ogilvie's Series title at Brockville Speedway when scheduling permits.
