The AMR25 represents an evolution of its predecessor, featuring significant changes to improve drivability and driver confidence. Notable modifications include redesigned sidepods and substantial floor updates aimed at providing better rear-end stability.
Team Principal Andy Cowell emphasized that the new car incorporates feedback from the previous season, with a focus on creating a more manageable platform for drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso. Cowell acknowledged the competitive nature of the field heading into the Australian season opener while maintaining realistic expectations for improvement.
The team aims to address the performance drop-off experienced in 2024, where they finished fifth in the constructors' championship despite a strong start. With significant regulation changes approaching in 2026, Aston Martin is strategically positioning itself for future success.
Fernando Alonso expressed optimism about the new season, citing the team's learnings from 2024 as a foundation for improvement. The two-time world champion emphasized his commitment to strengthening the team's position in what will be the final year of the current technical regulations.
The AMR25 will make its official track debut during pre-season testing in Bahrain, where the team will begin gathering crucial data for the upcoming championship campaign.
