Annunziata Claims Dramatic TA2 Victory in Sebring Season Opener
Tyler Gonzalez dominated the season-opening Trans Am Series TA2 race at Sebring International Raceway until a mechanical issue on the final lap handed victory to teammate Thomas Annunziata in a caution-filled event.

Despite Mike Skeen setting a new track record in qualifying, Gonzalez took the lead at the start in his No. 10 Nitro Motorsports Ford Mustang. Multiple cautions punctuated the race, including a six-car incident in Turn 10 on the opening lap.
Key race developments:
- Rafa Matos spun out of second place after contact with Skeen
- Annunziata moved into second position following multiple restarts
- Gonzalez built a 2-second lead before his throttle pedal broke on the final lap
- Annunziata inherited the win, followed by Skeen and Austin Green
"In my eyes, I finished second today," said Annunziata. "Tyler Gonzalez drove an amazing race and was the class of the field. I had a second-place car, but I'll take the win after our bad luck last year."
In the Pro/Am Challenge, Keith Prociuk claimed victory after Barry Boes, who led most of the race, was spun in traffic on the final lap. Jared Odrick charged from 32nd to finish third in class, earning the Bassett Hard Charger Award.
