Ganassi Duo Palou and Dixon Show Strong Pace in Thermal Club Warmup
Alex Palou dominated the final warmup session at The Thermal Club, leading a Chip Ganassi Racing 1-2 with teammate Scott Dixon before today's IndyCar Grand Prix. Palou's fastest lap of 1m40.3667s around the 3.6-mile road course nearly matched his qualifying performance.
Josef Newgarden showed promising pace for Team Penske in third position, 0.5695s behind Palou, providing a much-needed boost after all Penske cars struggled in Saturday's qualifying.
Notable recoveries came from Graham Rahal and Callum Ilott, who finished fourth and fifth respectively in the warmup despite qualifying 18th and 22nd. Pole position holder Pato O'Ward of Arrow McLaren finished 19th in the session.
