After a challenging season opener in Sao Paulo, the Andretti Formula E team is focusing on the positives despite two retirements and zero points. Defending champion Jake Dennis showed promising pace, leading multiple sessions and narrowly missing pole position by 0.001s before a technical failure ended his race prematurely.

The team's performance before the race validated their off-season development work, particularly with the new tire compound and four-wheel-drive system. Team Principal Roger Griffiths emphasized that while the double DNF was disappointing, the team's operational execution was excellent.

Andretti continues its customer relationship with Porsche, implementing incremental improvements rather than wholesale changes to their GEN3 Evo package. The powertrain updates focus on optimization and software development, building on their championship-winning foundation.

New driver Nico Mueller, joining from Abt, brings manufacturer experience and direct access to Porsche's resources. His addition is expected to benefit both the team and teammate Jake Dennis, though his first race ended early after a collision.

Looking ahead to Mexico City, where Dennis previously secured pole position, victory, and the lap record, the team is optimistic. Dennis aims for nothing less than victory if they can qualify well, while Mueller focuses on achieving his first clean weekend with the team.

The team's early signs of competitiveness, despite the disappointing results in Sao Paulo, suggest Andretti remains a serious championship contender for the current Formula E season.
